Here is a simple statement of market truth:

History has shown that the bulk of the stock market’s returns are delivered by dividends.

"Among S&P 500's companies, 241 have increased their dividend this year, and only three have decreased them.  Overall payments to shareholders are up almost $29 billion, belying the common mantra that American companies aren't spending their money."

This site is dedicated to dividend knowledge and is totally free -
really - no premium come-ons later.  Dr. Dividend hates those sites.

Okay - there may be some advertising - and if you clicked on any of the links, Dr. D. would be most happy.  But it is not necessary.

So......give up your inhibitions and fears about dividends and dive in - you may find the secret to your investment future!

Just a note:  Dr. Dividend is not a professional stock broker or analyst - just an amateur investor like you.  The information here is available to anyone who wants to spend the time investigating dividend stocks.  The idea is to gather as much information as possible in one convenient location.  Dr. Dividend does not do charts, moving averages, tea leaves, Ouija boards, or any of the myriad devices used by professional prognosticators.  We leave that up to you when you have outgrown the information here.

Let's get started.  The logical place is WHAT ARE DIVIDENDS?

All I hear from the analysts (see WHAT'S AN ANALYST?) is that dividends are decreasing across the board.

The POTENTIAL STOCKS sections lists over 225 stocks that consistently pay dividends of $1.60 or more per share per year.  There have been some reductions, but also many increases.  Let's face it - dividends rock!
